This Privacy Policy explains how D1Sleep (the "Site" or "Services") collects, uses, and discloses information when you access or use the Services.
D1Sleep helps you import and view sleep-related metrics from supported sources (such as wearables and health platforms) and your manual inputs. The Services may also include optional social and team features (such as friends, groups, and coach/team views). Your sleep data is private by default, and sharing is controlled by you through in-app settings.
This Policy applies only to the Services. It does not apply to third-party websites, apps, devices, or platforms you may use (including wearable manufacturers and health platforms). Those third parties have their own privacy policies and practices.
When you upload or connect supported sources, we collect sleep-related data you authorize us to access. Depending on your device/provider, this may include sleep start/end times, duration, sleep stages, awakenings, consistency, recovery/readiness scores, and related signals.
Some of this information may be considered sensitive or health-related under certain laws. You choose whether to provide or connect this data and how (or whether) to share it with others in the Services.
If you connect third-party services (for example, wearable providers and health platforms), we receive data from those services according to the permissions you grant. The specific fields shared depend on the provider and your settings with them.
We may display the name of the connected provider/device as the source of certain metrics (for example, to help you understand where a number came from and to comply with provider requirements).
Like most websites, we (and our infrastructure providers) may collect basic log and usage information when you use the Services. This can include IP address, device and browser type, pages/screens viewed, timestamps, and general interaction data used for security, performance, and reliability.
We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the Services (for example, to keep you signed in, maintain sessions, and protect against abuse). You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of the Services may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
We use information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your sleep data for advertising-based profiling. We do not use your sleep data to train machine learning models.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We disclose your information only as described below.
If you enable social or team features, we may share the specific information you choose to share with other users (for example, friends, teammates, or coaches) according to your settings. Your sharing settings may allow you to share limited summaries (such as badges or totals) or more detailed metrics, depending on what you choose.
To operate the Services, we use third-party infrastructure and tools that process information on our behalf. These may include:
These providers may process personal information only to provide services to us (for example, hosting, security, and data storage) and not for their own independent purposes, subject to their applicable terms and policies.
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; (b) enforce our terms and policies; (c) protect the security or integrity of the Services; or (d) protect rights, property, or safety of users or others.
If the Services or assets are transferred (for example, as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale), information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We generally retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services to you. Retention depends on the type of information and how it is used (for example, account data versus security logs).
You have full control over your data through the following tools available in your account settings:
You may also disconnect supported providers (such as WHOOP) to stop new data imports at any time. Some information may persist for limited periods in backups or logs, or as required for security, legal, or operational reasons.
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure (for example, access controls and encryption in transit). However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live, including locations where our service providers operate. Data protection laws may differ by jurisdiction.
D1Sleep is operated from the United States.
By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. We take steps designed to ensure that transfers are handled in accordance with this Policy and applicable law. If you do not want your information processed in the United States or other jurisdictions, you should not use the Services.
